This is a company out of China who appernetly has stolen the intellectual property of malwarebytes and using it to sell its own security program.
It's a very long thread but you can read about it here in the malwarebytes forum

I'm also watching how this plays out at Major Geeks. One of the site owners there has been talking to both companies. For the moment he has made it impossible to download IOBit Security 360.
Note: this is the only program we are focusing on. IOBit makes other programs.

| It's questionable whether you can copyright a database. They ought to just periodically release an old copy of their data to anyone who wants to use it. That will remove competitor's incentives to reverse engineer it from their products while allowing everyone to continue to compete on freshness. |
